We can loosely think of jquery functions as operations that read, write or delete part of a web page.

Once an element is selected by jquery, we can perform a variety operations by executing functions provided by jQuery.

For example if we want to view the html of a div with id="popUp" we can execute the following line: https://raw.githubusercontent.com/finsweet/jqueryCourse/main/jquery%20functions/ex1.js?actionable=true All content contained in the div will be saved in our variable html_content. The jquery function that provides the div content is html()

<script>
$(document).ready(function(){
  XT1
});
