Finsweet Legal Agreements and Policies for Products and Services
1. Welcome
1.1 Introduction
We're thrilled to have you use Finsweet's Products and Services. This document outlines the Privacy Policy ("Policy") that govern your use of our offerings.
Finsweet Inc. is the company behind all the awesome Products and Services you're using. When we say "Finsweet," "we," "us," or "our" in this Policy, we’re talking about Finsweet Inc. When we say "you" or "Customer," we mean you - the individual or company using our Products and Services.
By using Finsweet's Products and Services, or accessing our content on any platform, you're agreeing to this Policy, so give them a thorough read. If you're accepting for a company or other legal entity, you're confirming you've got the authority to do so. In that case, "you" means that entity. By accepting this Policy, you're confirming that you have the right to enter into this agreement, either for yourself or on behalf of your company. If you're acting on behalf of a company, you're promising us that you have the authority to bind that company to this Policy.
Capitalized terms not defined in this Policy have the meaning given to them in our other applicable agreements referenced herein.
1.2 Products and Services
Finsweet’s “Products and Services” include:
- Products, like Wized, Attributes, Client-First, Components, and CMS Bridge
- Content, like SEO Guide, tutorials, documentation, educational resources, affiliate links, this website (Finsweet.com and any subdomain of Finsweet.com), and YouTube content.
- Tools, like Finsweet Extension, Support Forum, Open Source initiatives, code snippets, and repos
In our Agreement, we may say “Products” or “Services” to represent Products and Services. We’re always innovating at Finsweet, so this list of Products and Services may change. Any future Products that we create at Finsweet will also be covered under this Policy and the Agreement.
1.3 Applicable terms
When you use Finsweet's Products and Services, you're agreeing to this Policy, as well as our Acceptable Use Policy, Intellectual Property Policy, Cookie Policy, and any other applicable agreements or policies referenced on website’s legal pages (collectively, the "Agreement"). You can find these applicable agreements and policies at Finsweet.com/legal/home. If you're using specific Finsweet Products or Services, additional terms may apply—we'll make sure to let you know about those.
Remember, this Policy apply from the moment you start using our Products and Services until you decide to stop using them or your subscription ends.
Please take the time to read through this Agreement carefully. By using Finsweet's Products and Services, you're indicating that you understand and accept this Policy. If something doesn't make sense or you don't agree with part of it, please don't use our Products and Services until we've had a chance to clarify things for you.
We know that was a lot of legal language, but it's important stuff. Here's what it means in simpler terms:
- By using our Products and Services, you're agreeing to all our terms.
- If you don't agree, you can't use our stuff.
- You're promising us you have the authority to agree to this Policy.
- If you're agreeing on behalf of a company, you're confirming you have the power to do so.
2. What we mean by "Personal Information"
When we say "Personal Information," we're talking about any information that can be used to identify a real person. We promise not to give, sell, rent, or loan your Personal Information to any third party, unless we've spelled it out in this Policy.
Now, "Personal Information" doesn't include data we've anonymized, de-identified, or aggregated so that it can't be traced back to any individual (we call this "De-identified Data"). We use De-identified Data to spot trends in how people use our Services, which helps us cook up new features and fine-tune existing ones.
3. How we collect, use, and share your information
a. Information you provide
When you sign up for our Services, we'll ask for some basics like your name and email address. If you're purchasing something, we'll need billing info too. You might also choose to share things like your website name, social media profiles, or a list of your web skills.
As you use our Products or Services, some tools may save your work continuously. For example, Wized may save backups of your project. This helps us track when you're making changes, when you last opened one of our tools, or when you've published a site.
We might hang onto messages you send us or content you create using our Services, as long as it's legal for us to do so.
We use this information to:
- Keep our Services running smoothly
- Make our billing and authentication processes work
- Get in touch about your use of our Services
- Suggest ways to optimize your projects
- Send you marketing materials
- Conduct research to improve our Services
- Analyze how people use our Sites and Services
- Prevent fraud and enforce our Terms of Service
We might combine your Personal Information with third-party analytics (including session replay tech) to build a more complete picture of our customers. This helps us serve you better and provide personalized content.
Quick note: We'll never email you asking for your account info. If you get an email like that, forward it to [email protected] right away.
We use financial information solely as you authorize. While we don't store your credit card info and we use commercially reasonable efforts to keep all your Personal Information safe, we can't be held responsible for unauthorized access to our secure servers or any personal or financial info stored there. We use industry-standard secure applications to process your information.
b. Information from third parties
We might receive Personal Information about you from third parties. For example, if you access our Services through a third-party connection or log-in, or if you connect an application to Finsweet, that third party might pass along some information about how you use their Service.
We may also provide Personal Information to our third-party Service providers (like our payment processors and hosting partners) as needed to keep our Services running. These providers are only allowed to use this information to provide their Services to us.
c. Application integration
To help exchange data between third-party SaaS applications, we might need to store certain information ("App Credentials") that lets us access these third-party accounts on your behalf. We keep your App Credentials encrypted and secure.
When we access these third-party applications for you, they provide us with certain data. We'll use, store, and disclose this data in line with this Policy.
Just a heads up: we're not responsible for the privacy practices of any third-party applications you give us access to.
d. Log file information
We collect some technical information from projects built with Finsweet Products.
We use this information to keep an eye on website traffic volumes (which can affect billing for some of our customers), for our own security and analytical purposes, and to create separate analytics Products for our customers.
e. Other information disclosure
Sometimes, we might need to disclose Personal Information to comply with the law, respond to legal requests, protect our rights, or investigate potential illegal activities.
We use information collected by cookies, log files, and similar tools to:
- Remember your info so you don't have to re-enter it
- Provide custom, personalized content
- Monitor how effective our Services are
- Track overall usage patterns
- Fix tech problems
- Help you access your info after you sign in
- Provide advertising to your browser or device

4. Links to other websites
Our Services might contain links to other websites and applications, including those run by our affiliates and other third parties. This Policy only covers information collected by our Services. We're not responsible for the practices of third parties or their websites or applications.
5. Public forums
If we offer publicly accessible blogs, messaging platforms, or community forums, any Personal Information you choose to share there becomes public.
6. Customer testimonials
We love sharing customer success stories. If we want to post a testimonial that includes your Personal Information, we'll always get your okay first.
7. Protection of information
At Finsweet, we take the security of your Personal Information seriously. We use industry-standard security measures like firewalls and SSL encryption to protect your confidential information. But remember, no internet transmission is ever 100% secure, so be mindful of what information you send electronically.
8. Hosting and data transfer
As a U.S.-based company, we might host, transfer, and process your Personal Information in the U.S. or other countries. We use various safeguards, including contractual and technical measures, to protect any Personal Information we transfer.
For our UK, EU, EEA, and Swiss friends, check out our EU & Swiss Privacy Policy for more details.
9. Your choices
You can choose not to provide Personal Information, but that might limit the Services we can offer you.

You can also opt out of interest-based advertising through various industry tools.

11. Data retention
We'll keep your Personal Information for as long as necessary to provide our Services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.
12. Children's personal information
Our Services aren't meant for children under 13 (or the applicable digital age of consent). If you think a child under 13 has provided us with Personal Information, please let us know, and we'll delete it ASAP.
13. Your California privacy rights
For our California residents, we've got some additional info about the Personal Information we collect and how we use it. Check out the full Policy for details.
14. U.S. State privacy rights
Depending on which state you live in, you might have additional privacy rights. These could include the right to know what Personal Information we have about you, the right to request deletion of your Personal Information, and the right to opt out of certain data sharing practices.
15. Business transactions
If Finsweet is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or part of its assets, your Personal Information might be transferred as part of that transaction.
16. If you don’t agree, stop using our services
Make sure sure you agree to this Policy and every policy that’s part of the Agreement. If you don’t, you should discontinue use of Finsweet’s Products and Services immediately.
17. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our Services, legal requirements, or business practices. If we make any significant changes, we'll notify you by email or by posting a prominent notice on our website before the changes become effective. We encourage you to review this Policy periodically for the latest information on our service policies. Your continued use of Finsweet's Services after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy. If you don't agree with the revised Policy, you should discontinue use of our Services.
