Trademark Usage Policy
Finsweet Legal Agreements and Policies for Products and Services
1. Welcome
1.1 Introduction
We're thrilled to have you use Finsweet's Products and Services. This document outlines the Trademark Usage Policy ("Policy") that govern your use of our offerings.
Finsweet Inc. is the company behind all the awesome Products and Services you're using. When we say "Finsweet," "we," "us," or "our" in this Policy, we’re talking about Finsweet Inc. When we say "you" or "Customer," we mean you - the individual or company using our Products and Services.
By using Finsweet's Products and Services, or accessing our content on any platform, you're agreeing to this Policy, so give them a thorough read. If you're accepting for a company or other legal entity, you're confirming you've got the authority to do so. In that case, "you" means that entity. By accepting this Policy, you're confirming that you have the right to enter into this agreement, either for yourself or on behalf of your company. If you're acting on behalf of a company, you're promising us that you have the authority to bind that company to this Policy.
Capitalized terms not defined in this Policy have the meaning given to them in our other applicable agreements referenced herein.
1.2 Products and Services
Finsweet’s “Products and Services” include:
- Products, like Wized, Attributes, Client-First, Components, and CMS Bridge
- Content, like SEO Guide, tutorials, documentation, educational resources, affiliate links, this website (Finsweet.com and any subdomain of Finsweet.com), and YouTube content.
- Tools, like Finsweet Extension, Support Forum, Open Source initiatives, code snippets, and repos
In our Agreement, we may say “Products” or “Services” to represent Products and Services. We’re always innovating at Finsweet, so this list of Products and Services may change. Any future Products that we create at Finsweet will also be covered under this Policy and the Agreement.
1.3 Applicable terms
When you use Finsweet's Products and Services, you're agreeing to this Policy, as well as our Acceptable Use Policy, Intellectual Property Policy, Cookie Policy, and any other applicable agreements or policies referenced on website’s legal pages (collectively, the "Agreement"). You can find these applicable agreements and policies at Finsweet.com/legal/home. If you're using specific Finsweet Products or Services, additional terms may apply—we'll make sure to let you know about those.
Remember, this Policy apply from the moment you start using our Products and Services until you decide to stop using them or your subscription ends.
Please take the time to read through this Agreement carefully. By using Finsweet's Products and Services, you're indicating that you understand and accept this Policy. If something doesn't make sense or you don't agree with part of it, please don't use our Products and Services until we've had a chance to clarify things for you.
We know that was a lot of legal language, but it's important stuff. Here's what it means in simpler terms:
- By using our Products and Services, you're agreeing to all our terms.
- If you don't agree, you can't use our stuff.
- You're promising us you have the authority to agree to this Policy.
- If you're agreeing on behalf of a company, you're confirming you have the power to do so.
2. What this policy is all about
At Finsweet, we've got some pretty cool trademarks. We're talking about the name “Finsweet”, our Products lineup, our logos, our slogans, and any other intellectual property that’s ours (we'll call all of this "Finsweet Trademarks" from here on out).
Here's what we're aiming to do with this policy:
- Give you a clear roadmap for using our Finsweet Trademarks
- Explain out how businesses and projects can (and can't) use Finsweet Trademarks
- Stop anyone from using Finsweet Trademarks to pretend to look like Finsweet.
If you want to use Finsweet Trademarks in a way we haven't covered here, you'll need to get our approval first. And just so we're clear, if we think you're breaking this policy, or any terms or policy from of our Agreement, we can suspend your right to use Finsweet Trademarks at any time.
3. What you can't do with Finsweet Trademarks
Unless we've given you explicit confirmation to do so, here's what's off-limits:
- Registering domain names that use Finsweet Trademarks (including the word “Finsweet”) or anything too similar
- Mashing up Finsweet Trademarks with your company name, Product, or logo
- Using names or Trademarks that could be mistaken for Finsweet Trademarks
- Using phrases like "Finsweet Partner," "Finsweet Expert," or "Finsweet Certified"
- Getting creative with our logo colors, photoshopping our logos, or integrating our logo together with other shapes or photos
- Using old versions of the Finsweet Trademarks
We're all about innovation and change, but when it comes to Finsweet Trademarks, we need to keep things consistent. If you have questions about using Finsweet Trademarks, just ask us.
4. How you can use Finsweet Trademarks
Here's the good news - you can absolutely use Finsweet Trademarks to talk about our Products and Services. We want you to use Finsweet Trademarks. Just keep these rules in mind:
- Make it clear that you're not officially affiliated with or endorsed by Finsweet
- Your use of Finsweet Trademarks should be more of a supporting act, not the headliner compared to your own brand
- Stick to our Brand Usage Guidelines (they're there to make us all look good)
Here are some examples:
- Correct usage: "WebDev Wizards, crafting killer Wized apps for your websites this Halloween"
- Incorrect usage: "The Official Finsweet Wized Agency", “Certified Wized Agency”
- Correct usage: "Attribute Aces: Supercharging your Webflow site with Finsweet Attributes"
- Incorrect usage: "Finsweet's Authorized Attributes Experts", "The Attributes Company"
- Correct usage: "Component Kings: Building lightning-fast Webflow sites with Finsweet Components"
- Incorrect usage: "Finsweet-Approved Component Specialists", "The Official Components Crew"
- Correct usage: "Client-First Champions: Certified experts in Finsweet's Client-First methodology for Webflow"
- Incorrect usage: "Finsweet's Official Client-First Agency", "The Only True Client-First Experts"
- Correct usage: "CMS Bridge Builders: Seamlessly connecting your Webflow and Airtable data"
- Incorrect usage: "Finsweet's Official CMS Bridge Partners", "Certified CMS Bridge Agency"
- Correct usage: "Extension Enthusiasts: Boosting your Webflow workflow with the Finsweet Extension"
- Incorrect usage: "Finsweet-Endorsed Extension Experts", "The Official Extension Agency"
- Correct usage: "Finsweet+ Fanatics: Leveraging premium resources to elevate your Webflow game"
- Incorrect usage: "Finsweet's Certified Plus Members", "The Official Finsweet+ Training Company"
Remember, we're all about empowering you to do amazing things with our Products and Services. We just need to make sure there's no confusion about who's who.
5. Advertising do's and don'ts
When it comes to spreading the word about your Finsweet-related Services, here's what you need to know:
- Don't use Finsweet Trademarks in keyword targeting for ads. We know it's tempting, but it's a no-go.
- You can mention Finsweet in your ad text, but make it clear you're doing your own thing, not representing us.
- If you're showing off Finsweet Products in demos or webinars, throw in a disclaimer like: "This webinar is independently produced and not officially associated with Finsweet Inc."
We want you to succeed and shout about the awesome things you're doing with our Products. Just make sure you're not accidentally (or intentionally) making it seem like we're running the show.
6. What happens if you break the rules
If we think you're not playing by the rules laid out in this policy, we might have to take action. That could mean temporarily or permanently revoking your access to Finsweet Products or Services, or asking you to stop using our Trademarks altogether.
We'd much rather work with you to find a solution that keeps everyone happy. So if you're unsure about anything, just ask us. We're here to help you succeed while keeping the Finsweet brand strong.
Remember, we're all part of the same community here. We want to see you do amazing things with Finsweet Products, and we want to make sure everyone knows just how awesome website development can be. Let's work together to keep pushing the boundaries of what's possible on the web.
7. If you don’t agree, stop using our services
Make sure sure you agree to this Policy and every policy that’s part of the Agreement. If you don’t, you should discontinue use of Finsweet’s Products and Services immediately.
8. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our Services, legal requirements, or business practices. If we make any significant changes, we'll notify you by email or by posting a prominent notice on our website before the changes become effective. We encourage you to review this Policy periodically for the latest information on our service policies. Your continued use of Finsweet's Services after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy. If you don't agree with the revised Policy, you should discontinue use of our Services.
